Second-seeded East Lyme advanced to the league championship game at 11 a.m. today in Jewett City against fourth-seeded Waterford when Sydney Swanson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat Griswold, 6-5, in the completion of their semifinal at Veteran’s Park on Friday.

East Lyme built on that lead the rest of the way, rolling to a 17-5 victory and its seventh consecutive ECC tournament title.

Laura Kastner, an East Lyme High School senior, is one of six winners of the Dominion Memorial Scholarship, Dominion Resources Inc. announced Friday. Kastner was selected from 200 applicants covering 12 states.
